How do I choose a therapist?

Many therapist practice couples counseling, however, few can demonstrate clinical competency. Ultimately, in choosing a couples therapist, it is recommended that you choose one whom you feel both comfortable with and also someone who has clinical training and experience in relationship counseling.

What is a Certified Gottman Therapist?

A Certified Gottman Therapist is an experienced therapist who has been extensively trained and demonstrated knowledge and competency in applying Gottman research-based methodologies. Licensed therapists must attend three levels of training curriculum and participate in a clinical skills practicum under the direction of a Senior Gottman Therapist before they can apply for certification with the Gottman Institute. To schedule a REMOTE appointment:

After our initial in face-to-face session, remote counseling (via the internet) may be a good option for couples with circumstances that preclude both parties from attending an appointment in person. To schedule a remote session through a secure internet and HIPAA compliant platform, click here.

What is the first session like?

My office environment is comfortable, quiet and discreet. I guide clients through the process of the initial evaluation, session structure and financial matters. Once the assessment phase has been completed, together we design a goal-directed and custom-made treatment plan.

What are your office hours?

9am – 6pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
4pm – 9pm Tuesday
9am – 2pm Friday

Extended, 3-hour couples sessions are available on weekends and evenings by request.

What are your fees?

First 50-minute session: $125
Second & subsequent 50-minute sessions: $125
Marathon weekend couples sessions, available upon request.
Half (4 hour) day: $600
Full (8 hour) day: $1000

Regrettably, because appointments are exclusively reserved for you, I must charge for appointments cancelled with less than 24 hour notice.

Do you take insurance?

No. Check with your insurance carrier, as some insurance plans offer “out of network” benefits. If you wish to file with your insurance company for “out of network” benefits, I will provide you a statement that you, in turn, can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
